Single-family home design in Bydgoszcz – Opławiec
Status: under construction
The design was created for a plot of land with exceptional scenic value, located directly on the banks of the Brda River in Opławiec, Bydgoszcz. The building's structure is oriented parallel to the shoreline, allowing all the main rooms to open up to views of the water and the surrounding nature.
The design features a simple, minimalist form with a distinctive arcade sheltering the terrace and a massive chimney, which divides the terrace space into zones with varying levels of privacy. The brick façade evokes the traditional "Pomeranian Houses" characteristic of the Bydgoszcz region.
The design aligns with the reuse concept. Bricks recovered from an earlier, ruined building on the site were used in the construction. This allows the project to combine modern architecture with local heritage and a sustainable approach to design.
