Design of a single-family home in Tryszczyn near Bydgoszcz, including interior design
Status: under construction
The house in Tryszczyn is a private home designed by one of the co-founders of the AKKT studio. The main design challenge was to ensure privacy on a plot "squeezed" between two roads in a densely urbanized suburb. It was also important to create a space that would allow the investor to develop his passions while simultaneously acting as a buffer for changing needs over time.
To meet these requirements, a horseshoe-shaped structure was created, centered around a central atrium. The courtyard connects to the garden through a partial roof, creating functional spaces with varying degrees of privacy. The entire eastern wing of the house forms this buffer, which, like other rooms, opens onto the inner square. The building is intended to appear as "closed" as possible from the outside. Hence, the entire structure is wrapped in a "skin" of corrugated sheet metal. Some cladding sheets are perforated, revealing glazing hidden beneath the steel shell, creating interesting visual effects.
